Hi, I randomly add friends based on who sounds interesting, so if I say sounds that sounds interesting to you, friend me back! :-)
------------------
I'm not sure what I'm doing in the south. Since I don't have kids, and I don't go to a church, I don't have any friends around here. I don't really belong here... but I'm not going back to chicagoland, and I'm not going back to L.A., so why not be here?
The weather is better than Chicago, but not as good as Los Angeles. L.A. is SO expensive. Before we left, we were spending $3000/mo to rent a house in a decent neighborhood! The cost of living here is much cheaper (we don't spend $1200 on all our living expenses combined!) so we get to travel, a LOT.
We have more privacy, and more peace & quiet, so most of the time, it seems to be worth it.
What I'm doing with my life
I work for myself, so mostly I only work when I want to. I have a lot of free time.
My husband also works from home, but since we have no friends here (and we've tried!) there are often long stretches of time that we don't talk to another person for something besides work. I love him, very much, but I've heard all his stories and I know all his jokes (tho he still makes me laugh!)
I just like talking to people I haven't been married to for 20 years. :-)
Favouritest of all the things
- The Internet is my refuge.
- I love to cook.
- I enjoy tinkering with gadgets and tools.
- I adore my 9yr old pitbull. She's a rather small one, at 45 lbs, and she's just about damned near perfect.
My darkest secret
I've been wearing long underwear, all day, every day, since it got cold. (...unless I'm leaving the house, which is only about once per week) DIFFERENT ONES tho, not the same set! I bought 9 sets on a huge sale at the end of winter last year. It's like a cozy, comfy, at-home uniform.
Bonus not-quite-a-secret: I didn't like living in Los Angeles... but some days, I'd move back there in a heartbeat. I miss the grocery stores, with tons of super-fresh, cheap produce. The rest of the country doesn't know how shitty their food is compared to California produce.
