Firstly, Lord of the Rings wins. I enjoy fantasy writing in general, I suppose, and I also read a fair amount of sci-fi. Specific examples include A Song of Ice and Fire, the Dragonriders of Pern series, the Foundation series, Dune, and Harry Potter of course, since I grew up with it.

On similar ground, the Game of Thrones show is a big favourite, and I enjoy the representations of the characters. House Martell has my backing for the Iron Throne!
